Nissan Accident Management
IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT
We all know that accidents can happen and at times it can be difficult to think straight when everything around is going left and right. So we've produced this simple guide to help you get everything resolved as quickly and simply as possible. Additionally we would like to offer you a downloadable Accident and Breakdown PDF that you can print and carry in your car.
1. Stop
Only drive away if you feel threatened or in danger - and if you do, make sure you call the police as soon as possible.
2. Need the emergency services?
- Call 999 immediately if:
- Anybody needs urgent medical attention - ask for ambulance
- The road is blocked or damaged - ask for police
- Someone leaves the scene without exchanging details - ask for police.
3. Call Nissan Accident Support
Call 0800 015 3248 - our 24-hour helpline immediately from the scene, even if you can drive away. This service is provided free of charge to all our customers regardless of the age of their Nissan vehicle.
Help at the scene
Your Accident Specialist will give you expert help and advice and can:
- Record all the accident details for your insurance claim
- Report the accident to your insurance company
- Arrange repairs using a Nissan Authorised Accident Repair Centre
- Arrange a replacement vehicle for the duration of repairs
4. Incident Details
Please note any relevant details, such as time, date, location and weather conditions.
5. Swap Details with other drivers
All drivers involved in the accident must exchange details. Carefully record the name, address, contact telephone number, car registration, insurance company and policy number.
6. Any Witnesses?
Note the name, address, contact telephone number and registration number of any witnesses.
Did You Know?
Many insurers will try to direct your vehicle into their own repair network and may use non-genuine parts in an attempt to reduce their repair costs. That's fine for them, but is it the best for you and your car? You have the right to ensure that your car is repaired to the very highest standards - so tell your insurer you want the repairs carried out by an authorised Nissan dealer and always insist on Nissan Genuine Parts.
All you need to do is call the assistance number and give your vehicle's registration and if possible the registration date.
